Guided Help Desk
Ask a Home Owner question using published Scope2Estimate guidance. This prelaunch help searches the Q&A on this page and does not send the question to an AI model or external provider.

Is signup really free?
Yes. There is no signup charge. You can create your account, complete your profile, enter your Basic project information and update saved project answers without buying an estimate. Project AI assistance, new photo uploads and product selections are part of paid Detailed access, which remains locked until secure payments are connected and confirmed.
Does adding a project charge me?
No. Saving a project is separate from ordering an estimate. Your portal lets you review the estimate-service fee based on the project information before deciding to proceed. Payment is not active yet.
What am I paying S2E for?
The estimate-service fee is for generating the preliminary estimate and its planning information. It is not the price to remodel or build your project, a construction deposit, or payment to a contractor.
Why does an ADU estimate cost more than a small bathroom estimate?
A larger project has more estimating scope to organize and review. The current fee schedule also includes size-based adjustments. Utilities, foundations, structures, and other details help describe the work; the fee you review applies the configured size and selected-service rules.
How is my estimate-service fee calculated?
The review starts with the project type and its configured base fee. Defined measurements may add size fees. Relevant scope additions or optional comparisons may add fees as shown in the review. You can check the breakdown before any future payment.
Can I see the construction price before paying for an estimate?
Creating a project lets you see what S2E would charge to generate the estimate. That service-fee preview is not the project’s construction estimate. The completed preliminary construction-cost output is part of the planned paid-estimating workflow.
Can I use my own contractor?
Yes. In the project form, choose that you have your own trade partner or contractor. You can use the estimate to discuss scope and budget with them. You are not required to hire an S2E Trade Partner, and your contractor is not required to accept the preliminary estimate as a binding bid.
How do I request an S2E Trade Partner?
Choose the S2E Trade Partner review or outreach option in your project form. Your request is saved with the project. The matching and outreach features are still being prepared; saving the request does not promise immediate contact or a specific contractor.
Will requesting a Trade Partner automatically hire someone?
No. You decide who to speak with and hire. Review their qualifications, scope, price, schedule, and contract directly before agreeing to construction work.
Do I pay the Trade Partner’s lead-purchase fee?
The planned Trade Partner lead marketplace is a separate service for contractors. The homeowner estimate-service fee does not include a contractor lead-purchase charge. Any construction proposal or agreement is separate from S2E estimating.
Who can see my project and contact information?
Your account and authorized S2E staff can access records for the available service and support functions. Future Trade Partner outreach must follow the required consent and sharing rules. Choosing your own contractor does not automatically publish your project as a marketplace lead.
What details should I add to my project?
Include the work address, approximate measurements, planned work, materials or finish preferences, existing conditions, access restrictions, and other details you know. New photo uploads and product selections unlock after confirmed Detailed payment. For ADUs and new builds, add known utility connection distances and well details where relevant. Use Not sure when available rather than guessing.
What if my project is still just an idea?
Start with what you know. You can save the project and update it as your plans develop. Missing or uncertain information can affect the estimate, so it is worth identifying what still needs to be confirmed.
Can I add more than one project?
Yes. Keep separate projects for different jobs or properties, and review each project’s estimating fee independently. Completing or archiving one project does not remove the others.
Can I change my project or the estimate later?
You can update saved project information. Changes after an estimate is ordered may require a revised estimate or additional services, depending on the scope and the applicable estimating terms. Any additional approved service charge should be reviewed before processing.
What if I cancel or need a refund?
Signup and project creation are free, so there is no signup or project-creation charge to refund. When paid estimates launch, the checkout will show the current cancellation and refund terms. Eligibility depends on the order and work performed; no payment is collected today.
Is an S2E estimate a guaranteed construction price?
No. It is intended as preliminary planning information based on the inputs and estimating process. Contractor pricing, hidden conditions, material choices, access, local requirements, and other factors can change the final cost. Obtain and review the construction agreement separately.
Does an estimate replace plans, permits, or a site visit?
No. A preliminary estimate is separate from design documents, engineering, permits, inspections, and contractor verification. Confirm the requirements and conditions for your project with the relevant professionals.
Can I delete my project?
Saved projects are retained. You can update, complete, or archive them. Earlier revisions and saved-photo history remain retained for support and software improvement, subject to the Privacy Policy.
Can I upload blueprints or a 25-page plan set?
Plans & Blueprints is a planned Detailed feature, separate from project photos. The public fee illustration and portal package review show the current included plan-page allowance, additional-page price, maximum and total before payment. The starting pilot blueprint-review add-on costs $9.95 for up to 10 pages, then $0.99 per additional page: 25 pages add $24.80 to the Detailed fee. No plans means no blueprint charge. Owner Portal pricing changes can update that policy; use the live fee preview for the current price. Count pages analyzed across PDF files, not files uploaded. Larger sets can use additional paid page capacity within the displayed limit; contact S2E above that limit. Upload and AI-assisted plan review remain locked until confirmed Detailed payment and the analysis integration are available. Select relevant pages, confirm AI suggestions and unclear dimensions, and approve any charge before additional or revised pages are analyzed. AI-assisted plan review does not promise a complete or exact blueprint takeoff.
Can I pay for an estimate today?
Not yet. Signup, free project entry, package/fee review and saved billing reviews are available. Detailed includes 15 AI-assisted replies, 15 photos and 15 selections after confirmed payment; optional extra capacity is shown before approval. Payments, paid tool access and paid estimate delivery are still in development. The portal will show when checkout becomes available.
